In the second quarter of 2005 a total of 42,447 jobs were registered in Azerbaijan, including 22,078 permanent jobs.
The State Statistics Committee told Trend, starting from October 2003 to 1 July 2005 a total of 259,952 new jobs opened in the country, including 135,43 permanent jobs. 84% of new jobs were established in the regions, while 86% in the private sector. 32% of permanent jobs fell on non-oil sector, 35.4% was founded by entrepreneurs functioning without legal entities, while 27.6% fell on the newly established enterprises and organizations.
Under the State Program on Socio-Economic Development of regions in 2004-2008 it is planned to create 600,000 new jobs.
According to the State Statistics Committee, on 1 July 2005a total of 67,750 legal entities and 199,121 enterprises functioning without legal entities have been registered in the country.
