Ministry of communications invested about $10 million in it-sphere of Azerbaijan

For seven months of the current year the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) invested 47 billion, 172 million manats ($9,9 million) in the telecommunications sphere of Azerbaijan.
The funds have been basically aimed at the telephone stations rehabilitation, construction of new telephone lines in the capital city and in the regions of Azerbaijan, MCIT told Trend.

As for the invested funds in the Ministry’s individual enterprises during this period, MCIT noted, for Production Unit (PU) Aztelecom this figure was 18 billion, 472 million manats ($3,8 million), Baki Telefon Rabitasi - 22 billion, 116 million manats ($4,6 million), PU Teleradio - 1 billion, 720 million manats (over $361,000), state enterprise Azerpochta – 3 billion, 36 million manats (over $705,000). MCIT plans to invest in 2005 in the telecommunications sphere of Azerbaijan 96,5 billion manats ($20,32 million) and render services to the population and organizations for 670,1 billion manats ($141,130 million).
