Construction of new sugar plant starts in Salyan

The construction and installation work with the budget of $230,000will be conducted in three stages. The production capacity of the plant, which will work on the base of local sugar beet as raw material, is 7-10 tons of granulated sugar a year.

Earlier the sugar beet was planted in several kolkhozes of Salyan and transported to Parsabat, Iran, for refinery. The climate of the region is quite favorable for planting of sugar beet.
