Significant resources of oil and gas are located at shallow parts of Caspian Sea at depth of 10-12 km

The agency Trend reports, the general director of the Company Vladimir Khakhayev stated about this at the conference timed to exhibition «Oil and gas of Caspian sea-2005» stated 9 June.

He said, during Soviet Union time special project on study of interior of the Earth was developed. "More than 600 scientific and industrial unions participated in its work. Within frames of program it is envisaged to drill 14 deep wells in continental and landslide layers of the Earth. Nedra drilled 11. The part of wells drilled at landslide layers of the Earth was located in Azerbaijan, another part in Kazakhstan, Ukraine etc. Landslide layers in Caspian Sea reach the depth up to 15 km, this allows supposing, significant reserves of hydrocarbons in shallow parts of the sea at the depth of 10-12 ??.  

V.Khakhayev indicated, after collapse of USSR realization of programs was suspended. However conducted works by the company stimulated conducting of researches in other states. Presently, the works are going in Germany, Finland etc.
