New IMF supervisor on Azerbaijan expected

Vitaliy Kramarenko, the new head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, is expected to pay his first fact-finding visit to Azerbaijan on Tuesday.
Basil Zavoico, the head of the Baku Office of the IMF, told Trend on Tuesday during the visit the mission plans to elaborate the implementation of the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) program. Kramarenko is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Artur Rasizada, Finance Minister Avaz Alakbarov, Minister for Economic Development Farhad Aliyev, as well as Elman Rustamov, the chairman of the Managing Board of the National Bank of Azerbaijan, and Kamaladdin Heydarov, the head of the State Customs Committee.

The visit will officially start on Wednesday. Kramarenko replaced JOIhn Wakeman-Linn, the adviser to the Director of the IMF Department for Near East and Central Asia, whose office expired late 2004.
