The shiny black car at father-of-two Steve Marsh’s grave even features a parking ticket on the windscreen. The 51-year-old, who died in his sleep, had travelled to his final resting place in the back of a red pick-up truck.

‘It does look rather magnificent,’ said a spokesman for the cemetery, near Mr Marsh’s home in Forest Gate, east London.

‘It is one of the most unusual memorials we have here.’
