FM Mammadyarov: "Russia should play a key role in resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict"

As for the issues concerning the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem, Lavrov noted that Azerbaijan and Russia agree the Caucasian region should remind peaceful and stable.

Appreciating the role of the Russian co-chairman in the OSCE Minsk Group, the Azeri Minister underlined that Russia should play a key role in resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

"Relationship with Azerbaijan is of great importance for Russia for bilateral cooperation rests on solid foundation, laid in the time of Heydar Aliyev," Mr Lavrov said.

As stated there, the commodity turnover between the two countries keeps on growing.
