An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted the Turkish Diyarbekir city, TRT Haber reported on Saturday.
At present, victims and damages as a result of the earthquake have not been reported yet.
An earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted Van province on Oct.23 killing more than 600 people. Later earthquakes measuring 5.1 and 6.1 took place. Over 4,000 people were injured. About 2,262 buildings were destroyed.
Turkey is located in a seismically active zone. The most powerful vibrations of the earth's crust in this country occurred in the Marmara Sea in 1999. The magnitude of the tremors was 7.4. About 18,000 people killed in the earthquake.
