Azerbaijani Ambassador to US: "Our independence is the dearest and most important thing for Azerbaijan"

Azerbaijani Ambassador in the US Yashar Aliyev met with Oklahoma officials, National Guard leaders and the students of the Herbert W. Armstrong College in North Edmond, on March 1st, APA’s Washington DC correspondent was told by the College officials.

“Azerbaijan enjoys a beneficial relationship with the United States,” Aliyev told the students during his speech adding that the Azerbaijan with its national resources and a mix of civilizations and cultures is trying to diversify its economy and develop its farming and telecommunications industry.

“Our most important thing for Azerbaijan is our independence. That is the dearest and most important thing for Azerbaijan”, he mentioned.

The Ambassador also added that Azerbaijan has supported Americans shoulder to shoulder in fighting terrorism in Iraq, and at this time Azerbaijani soldiers are with US forces on the ground in Afghanistan.
