Azerbaijani wins Frankfurt Foreigners' Council elections

Foreigners’ Council of Frankfurt am Main, which represents more than 168 000 foreigners living in Frankfurt am Main in the magistrate and city’s other institutions, held an election on November 7.

The 37-seat council is elected every five years. Azerbaijani national Juma Mammadov was first among the former USSR citizens, who won the elections to the council.

Azerbaijani embassy and SOCAR representation in Germany supported our compatriot. Juma Mammadov’s interview to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung also had an impact on the election results. The newspaper chose five of 473 candidates, including Juma Mammadov, to interview with them.
