Azerbaijani canoeist becomes world champion, grabs Olympic license

The World Canoeing Championship wrapped up in Szeged, Hungary. The Azerbaijani Rowing Federation said that at the final, Azeri canoeist Valentin Demyanenko timed 39,339 sec in 200m distance showing the best result. He garnered the gold medal license for Olympic Games.

Earlier, Azerbaijani canoe duo Sergey Bezugliy and Maksim Prokopenko garnered silver medal and also grabbed license for Olympic Games -2012.
