Baku celebrates 25th International Olympic Day Run

An opening ceremony of the 25th International Olympic Day Run was held in Azerbaijan`s capital.

Vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade, sport department chief of country`s Youth and Sports Ministry Mirkamil Rahimov, representative of the British Embassy in Azerbaijan attended the event.

The official part of the ceremony rounded off with a parade of the participants.

The event has brought together over 500 amateur sportsmen from Baku and Sumgait cities of Azerbaijan, as well as foreign citizens.

The top three athletes were awarded with prizes and International Olympic Committee`s diplomas.

The oldest participant of the competition was 70 while the youngest one was 6.
