Two Azeri boxers have reached semifinal of the World Youth Championship.
Salman Alizadeh (48 kg) won over Belarusian Vadim Kirilenko (14:6).
Shaban Shahpalangov (51 kg) defeated Indian Bhaskara Zherripotula (14:2), and Elvin Isayev (57 kg) was stronger than the Kirghiz Nursultan Pazilova (22:11 ).
Only Kamran Bakhshaliev (60 kg) lost the game to Lithuanian Evaldas Petrauskas (0:3).
Thus, Azerbaijan already has three semifinalists, which means at least a bronze medal. The semi-finalists receive a license to participate in the Junior Olympics-2010 in Singapore. However, it each country can be represented at the Games with a maximum of three boxers.
