Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter wins Grand Prix bronze

Azerbaijan`s taekwondo fighter Milad Beigi Harchegani (80kg) has claimed a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Morocco.

He lost to Egyptian Seif Essay in the semifinals, Azertac reported.

Aykhan Tagizadeh and Mohammed Mammadov (both 68 kg) were defeated in the semi-final matches.

The national team will return to Azerbaijan on September 26.

The 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Prix is the 5th edition of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix series.

More than 200 taekwondo fighters from 53 countries competed for Olympic ranking points, prize money and of course, sporting glory.

The third Grand Prix of 2017 will be held in London, Great Britain, from October 20 – 22 one day after the 7th World Para-Taekwondo Championship takes place, also in London.

After winning the gold of the Baku 2015 the European Games and the European Championship in 2016, Harchegani won the title of world champion.

Milad Beigi Harchegani won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He also won a gold medal at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final in Baku

He also claimed a gold medal at the 2017 World Taekwondo Championship  in the South Korea.
