Azerbaijan’s Nazarova grabs gold in Athens

Azerbaijan’s female wrestler Shahana Nazarova has won gold at the Cadet World Championships held in Athens, Greece.

She secured a gold medal in the 38kg weight category, Azertac reported.

Azerbaijan’s wrestlers have already grabbed three medals, including a gold at the Cadet World Championship.

The gold medal came from Gurban Gurbanov in the 42kg weight category, while Nihad Mammadli and Zaur Aliyev took silvers in the 46kg and 50kg divisions respectively.

The championship is a yearly event where the best Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Women wrestlers in the world aged 16 -7 old compete.

Te tournament brought together more than 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia and other countries.
