Winners of 2nd Championship in Aerobic Gymnastics named

The 2nd Azerbaijan and Baku Championship in Aerobic Gymnastics was held at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex in Baku on October 1.

Some 35 representatives of the Ojag sports club competed for medals in the aerobic gymnastics, which started to develop in Azerbaijan in 2013.

The athletes performed in individual men’s (juniors – 15-17 years, seniors – 18 years and older), individual women’s (children – 7-8 years, youngsters – 9-11 years, pre-juniors – 12-14 years, juniors – 15-17 years) and women’s trio (children – 7-8 years, youngsters – 9-11 years, pre-juniors – 12-14 years) programs.

In the women’s pre-juniors, Khadidja Guliyeva claimed gold, while Farah Valiyeva and Farida Agayeva took silver and bronze respectively. 

In youngsters event, the first place was scored by Dilara Gurbanova. Leyla Bedjanova placed second, whereas Aydan Shirinli third.

Ayan Aliyeva became the winner in the women’s children category. Maryam Topchubasheva stood second, followed by Fidan Ibrahimova.

Junior trio of Aylin Aliyeva, Amina Jafarli and Zahra Salmanli took the first place. The silver went to trio of Mammadova, Huseynova and Mammadli. Trio of Abilova, Hashimova and Guliyeva claimed third place.

In youngsters trio Aydan Mugalova, Aydan Shirinova and Sara Alikhanli took the victory. Trio of Abdullazade, Bejanova and Gurbanova won silver, while, bronze was earned by Kaisi, Maksimova and Tagiyeva.
