23 July 2016 [16:00] - TODAY.AZ

Azerbaijani gymnast Zhala Piriyeva believes she has performed well, excluding clubs exercises, at the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku.

“I could have performed better in clubs exercises, but I think that I performed well,” Piriyeva, representing Azerbaijan at the event, told Trend July 23.

She said her main goal now is to further train and develop.

“I don’t know whether I will finalize the gymnastics program or start a new one, this depends on the coach’s decision,” she added.

The FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics will last until July 24, giving a unique opportunity to watch the performances of eminent gymnasts from 17 countries two weeks prior to the Rio Olympics.

Twenty-six gymnasts and nine teams will compete for medals in the all-around on the first two days of competitions. Apparatus finals will be held on the event’s last day.

A traditional Gala will be held on July 24 as part of the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku.
