Chief of International Pencak Silat Federation visits Azerbaijan

Director General of the International Pencak Silat Federation, President of the Asian Pencak Silat Federation Sheik Alau’ddin bin Yacoob Marican is visiting Azerbaijan.

He first visited the Alley of Honors to lay flowers at the tomb of national leader, founder and architect of the modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.

He also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

Sheik Alau’ddin bin Yacoob Marican then paid tribute to Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity. Pencak Silat is an umbrella term for a class of related martial arts.
