Azerbaijani football clubs write history in Europe - UPDATE

Azerbaijani FC Garabagh have progressed to the 2nd qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League after outclassing Macedonian Metalurg Skopje on aggregate.

Garabagh defeated Skopje 1-0 at home Thursday, while the first match saw the Azerbaijani club emerge victorious with the same score in Macedonia last week.

Azerbaijani FC Inter have made it to the 2nd qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League thanks to a 3-1 victory over Finnish FC Mariehamn on aggregate.

Inter defeated Mariehamn 2-0 in Finland in the second game.

The two clubs ended in a 1-1 draw in Baku last week.

Azerbaijani football club Khazar-Lankaran have defeated Maltese FC Sliema 2-1 on aggregate to reach the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

Khazar-Lankaran beat the Maltese rivals 1-0 at home Thursday, while the first encounter ended in a 1-1 draw in Malta last week.
