Real Madrid is set to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals, with the first leg scheduled for Wednesday, 24 April and the return match taking place the following Tuesday, 30 April.
Real Madrid and Borussia have already faced off in this year's competition, in the group stage. The German club ran out 2-1 winners on home turf at the Signal Iduna Park and picked up a valuable 2-2 draw at the Bernabéu to seal top spot in the group. A repeat of these results would see Jurgen Klopp's charges advance to the final.
The most famous previous meeting between the sides took place in the 1997-98 semi-finals, when Real Madrid sent Dortmund, the reigning champions, packing.
The first leg, in which the goalposts at the south end of the Bernabéu notoriously collapsed just before kick-off, ended 2-0 to 'Los Blancos', who backed up that result with a 0-0 draw at Dortmund's legendary ground, known then as the Westfalenstadion.
Real Madrid would go on to end a 32-year wait to lift the trophy again in the final, defeating Juventus 1-0 through a Mijatovic strike.
