Neftchi FC reaches group stage of UEFA Europa League defeating Cypriot Apoel- UPDATE

Neftchi have become a first club in Azerbaijan`s football history to qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Europa league after they secured a stunning 3-1 away win over Cypriot APOEL Nicosia in the second game of a two-legged qualifying encounter.

The goals of Neftchi FC was scored by Imamverdiyev (22 minute), Vauban (31), Flavin (60), the goals of APOEL Benachour at the 44th.

The first match ended in a 1-1 draw.

A team of French referees will officiate at the Apoel vs Neftchi encounter in the Europa League qualification round.  The game will take place in Nicosia on Thursday.
