Azerbaijan draws with Singapore

The national football team of Azerbaijan has held the first friendly during the training session in Dubai. The opponent was the national team of Singapore. The match held at The Sevens stadium ended 2:2.

Rauf Aliyev (15th minute) and Mahir Shukurov (62nd minute) excelled within the national team of Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, our team  failed to keep the score 2:2. The Singapore team managed to restore equality. Azerbaijan is to hold the next match against India on 27 February.

After a friendly, head coach of Azerbaijani national squad Berti Vogts voiced his opinion of the game.  “It seems that the Azerbaijani championship has resumed recently and the footballers training level leaves much to be desired. After 70th minute our team played weak, made several mistakes. It is possible to say that the draw was a present to the opponent. Such mistakes cannot occur on the international arena. The opponent cannot be so free in its penalty in the 93rd minute”.
