Azerbaijani gymnasts win 14 medals at Miss Valentina tournament

Azerbaijani gymnasts have brought home a clutch of 14 medals, including 6 golds from an annual contest Miss Valentina in Tartu Estonia. Aliya Garayeva gained two gold medals in the ball and ribbon events, as well as silver in the hoop and clubs events.

Juniors Nulufar Niftaliyeva and Jala Piriyeva were also successful. The 12-year-old grace led in a ball and clubs routine and came second in a hoop routine. The older sportswoman won in the exercises with a hoop and clubs and ended the tournament with a silver award in a ribbon routine. Her coeval Gulsum Shafizade was less successful by gaining silver in a ball and bronze in a ribbon routine. Another junior – 15-year-old Yekaterina Prokopenko shared the second place with the carpet host in the combination with a ribbon.
