Blast occurred in gas refining plant in Azerbaijan, casualties reported

Strong blast occurred in the gas refining plant in Azerbaijan.

It happened in the gas storage of the gas refining plant in Atbulag village of Hajigabul region. Teamster of the plant Adil Bashirov, 50, died in the aftermath of the blast. Chief engineer’s assistant Anar Tarlanov, 31, and other workers Vusal Rahimov, 35, and Babke Gayibov, 41, were hospitalized.

The blast was reportedly caused by the violation of safety rules during the welding.

Prosecutor’s office has launched criminal case on the fact, investigation is underway.
