Azerbaijani Ombudsman investigates detention of woman with child

Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova carried out an investigation in connection with a woman and her child detained while attempting to take part in illegal protests on April 17.
The investigation found that the woman was taken by police.

She and her child were released near a national park without being taken to the police station, the Ombudsman said.

The Ombudsman has sent her employees to the Baku City Main Police Department’s detention center to meet with the individuals who were detained during the protests.
