Customs duties payment in Azerbaijan fully transferred to non-cash system

In January-March, the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee transferred 240.6 million manats to the state budget compared to the forecast 240 million manats, Chairman of the Committee Aydin Aliyev said.

He noted the Committee's payment commitments to the 2011 budget were 1.12 billion manats, and the plan was fulfilled at 100.2 percent in the first quarter.

POS-terminals have been installed to ensure transparency in customs offices, Aliyev said.

He said an electronic system has launched in the Committee's Baku and Astara offices to ensure efficiency and transparency. The system will also soon be applied in other customs authorities, Aliyev added.

Control has been also strengthened over adherence to legislation by committee employees when fulfilling their official functions.
