MP says some advertisements deceive consumers in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani MP says there are violations in advertisements of some goods and services in Azerbaijan and people get inaccurate information on some cases.

"It is important to make amendments to the law on advertisements," Chief of Azerbaijan Parliament Economic Policy Commitee Ziyad Samadzade said at Caspian Business Club's meeting.

"Some insurance companies draft contracts so that people without proper knowledge in this field can not understand them. Some banks announce that they receive deposits with high interest rates while they do not inform people that they give loans with high rate,too."

MP says the law on advertisement needs to be ammended to prevent similar cases.

"The amendments should also envisage the responsibility to be undertaken for such cases," the MP added.
