Number of socially insured people increases by 10% in Azerbaijan in 2010

The number of socially insured people increased by 9.79 percent in 2010, the Azerbaijani State Fund for Social Protection of Population said.

The individual accounts were opened for 160,523 socially insured people in 2010 as a result of the activities within the state program on development of the pension-insurance system in 2009-2015.

Thus, the total number registered on the individual registration system as of January 1, 2011 was 1,800,452 people, of whom 55.4% were men and 44.6% were women.

There are mainly 25.7% of those registered in the system of individual registration. They are 40-50 years old, 21.6% - up to 30 years old, 22.5% - 30-40 years old, 21% - 50-60 years old and 9.2% - over 60 years old.

Azerbaijani President issued a decree on applying the law on an individual account in the state's social insurance in December 2001. Individual registration is an organization and accounting information on each insured person to provide pension rights and other social protection in accordance with the laws of the country.
