Azerbaijan to test new military defense products on 86 items

New military defense products on 86 items will be tested in Azerbaijan. This was announced at a meeting chaired by the Minister Yaver Jamalov, dedicated to discussion of the draft "State Program of Defense Order" for 2011.

At the meeting, reports of production units on the results of 2010 were also read out, the Azerbaijani Defense Industry Ministry said.

A fourfold increase in the amount of production of defense products compared to last year, as well as the expansion of amount of production of civilian products and an increase in product range by 15% are planned, the ministry said.

Yaver Jamalov charged with instructions to supply subordinate enterprises with new technology and equipment in order to ensure fulfillment of the "State Program of Defense Order."

According to the minister, the results of last year's activity of subordinate enterprises will be widely discussed at the Ministry's forthcoming collegial meeting.
