Japanese government funds construction of kindergarten in Azerbaijani village

The document was signed by Japan`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Shusuke Watanabe and chairman of “Uluchay” Socio-Economic Innovation Mais Safarov.

The project aims to provide a new kindergarten in Kish village. It will be implemented by “Uluchay”. The total amount of the Japanese Grant Assistance is USD 86,269.

The project is part of the Japanese government`s “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme”.

“Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” support projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Azerbaijani people. The total number of projects contracted in Azerbaijan so far is 138, and the amount is USD 10,189,769.

The total amount of Japan’s Official Development Assistance provided for the Republic of Azerbaijan is over $1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, cultural field as well as human capacity development.
