Activities of tourism agencies operating in Azerbaijan to be monitored

Azerbaijan-based tourism companies’ activity will be monitored, chief of the sector of research work, statistics and licenses of the ministry of Culture and Tourism, Rahman Orujlu said.

According to him, activity of tourism companies is important in this sector: “Some companies are good. But, at the same time, several companies don’t meet the consumers’ demands. The Ministry receives different complaints about these companies. The ministry has taken every measure about these companies, last year”.

He also noted that, the monitoring will be held jointly with Tourism Association and Economic Development Ministry. That’s why, monitoring commission will be established with the participation of representatives of the same agencies: “The commission will research the meeting of companies to relevant standards. Besides, the documents on activity of company will be defined”.

Orujlu says that 214 licensed tourism companies operate in Azerbaijan.
