Thickness of snow reaches half a meter in south of Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Lerik region faced difficulties due to a two-day snowfall, Director of the Lankaran Regional Hydrometeorological Center Idris Hojjatov told Trend.

According to information, the thickness of snow in the region reached 38 centimeters, while in the highlands, it reached more than half. There have been some problems due to the loss of connection between the highlands and the region center.

Power outages were recorded in some villages, however no problems were observed in the gas supply. At the moment, Regional Emergency Department's staff is working to eliminate the effects of bad weather.

Lerik is located 300 kilometers from Baku.
