2,040 quakes recorded in Azerbaijan last year

“2,040 shocks of earthquake were recorded in Azerbaijan last year”, Head of the Republic Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Gurban Yetirmishli said.

He said that 25 seismological stations were functioning in Azerbaijan and added that the seismological stations would be installed in 3 regions – Gusar, Gabala and Gobustan till the end of this month. The construction of the Shahbuz and Ordubad seismological stations in Nakhchivan will be started from April.
