Some 94 thousand users visited Azerbaijan ICT Ministry's portal in 2010

During 2010 the number of visits to the official website of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) www.mincom.gov.az made up roughly 94 thousand, an increase by almost 12%, compared to the last year (84 000).

In general, since 2008 the number of visits on the website of the Ministry amounted to 242,277. During the year on average over 260 visitors were registered daily. For comparison, the figure in 2009 stood at 230 in 2008 - 170.

Over 600 visits were registered daily during the days of the exhibition Bakutel 2010, i.e. from 23 to 26 November, at the same time on the eve of 6 December - the professional holiday of workers of communications and information technologies.

Besides, by the end of the year the ministry received 187 appeals from citizens through the online form on the portal. They were mainly related to information on laying a telephone line and connection to the broadband Internet, and electronic exchanges, existing ADSL-ports etc. Moreover, in the appeals citizens raised questions about the certification of equipment, the existing tariffs in the sphere of communication, the timing of postal shipments etc.

All the appeals were considered separately, the answers were given at a fixed time.

Internet resource of the ministry is a specialized information platform that provides all the necessary information about the ministry`s activity, its structures, country`s telecommunications and postal sectors, their development, implementation of information technologies and detailed and exact information about other important issues.

Information is posted in an expeditious manner in three languages: Azerbaijani, English and Russian.

Furthermore, the MCIT portal is one of the first Internet projects in the country, which provides daily rapid information on the world news in the field of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijani language.
