People may be admitted to doctorate in Azerbaijan next spring

People may be admitted to doctorate next spring, Mahmud Karimov, the president of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), told media. He said that there was no admission to doctorate for the last two years. The issue will be raised about its conducting twice a year.

The proposals on the number of specialties will be considered after the Cabinet of Ministers approves a list of institutes and research organizartions, Karimov said.

According to the president of the academy, Azerbaijan has signed agreements with several countries on bilateral recognition of diplomas of doctors of science. Azerbaijani graduates will face no problems in this area.

He said that the specialties of doctorate are determined in accordance with the UNESCO proposals.

"We have more requirements for doctoral dissertation than in Europe. Everybody shows great respect to our diploma," president of the academy said.
