The houses will be built for 590 orphans in Azerbaijan, Education Minister Misir Mardanov told media.

"We will transfer these children to trustee families within the state program on transferring children from public orphanages to families (deinstitutionalization) and alternative care in the Azerbaijan Republic (2006-2015)," minister said.
Mardanov said that the houses will be built in the pilot districts of Baku - Khazar, Surakhani because the largest number of orphanages are concentrated there.
A decision was made to organize a children's village upon the agreement signed between the Azerbaijani government and "SOS - Kinderdorf International" in 1997. SOS Children's Village is a bridge providing reliable adaptation of children in the society.
Children's Villages SOS, provided with the necessary infrastructure were built in Baku and Ganja thanks to huge investments. A number of social projects were realized.
