University of Information Technology to be founded in Azerbaijan

According to estimations of the Azerbaijani government, ICT revenues will exceed the oil incomes until 2020-2025, Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov said at the presentation of the book on “Azerbaijan model of development – Development after oil”.

“ICT revenues have to exceed the oil incomes in 2020-2025."

The minister said there is a need to draw in foreign investments, extend production export, establish transnational companies and activate their operations, increase ICT services. He noted that, fiscal policy and legal base has to be changed for this. According to him, it’s necessary to apply customs and tax concessions, more profitable cash-loan conditions for marketers, create a useful competitive environment and ensure protection of investments.
