
"Compared to previous years, this year, the number of human trafficking victims has decreased in Azerbaijan,", Deputy Chief of Office to Combat Trafficking in Persons at Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Imran Najafov said at the seminar titled "Fight against human trafficking in Azerbaijan and its prevention."
He noted that Azerbaijan is one of those countries which seriously struggle against human trafficking.
Najafov added that 27 crime facts, 86 human trafficking victims in 2006, 74 crime facts and 101 human trafficking victims in 2007, 76 crime facts and 78 human trafficking victims in 2008, 80 crime facts and 91 human rights victims in 2009, 70 crime facts and 34 human trafficking victims in 2010 were determined in Azerbaijan due to human trafficking.
