70 criminal facts related to human trafficking have been identified in Azerbaijan this year, chief of the Interior Ministry’s department on combating human trafficking Javad Shikhaliyev told journalists.
34 human trafficking victims have been identified during the investigation of those criminal facts, said Shikhaliyev.
Most of those people were integrated into the society and they were provided with job and education and at the same time everyone has received legal, psychological and social assistance. Shikhaliyev said earlier the human trafficking victims have received AZN 33 of aid, but after the approval of the 2nd National Action Plan, this sum was raised to AZN 200 in the first phase.
Shikhaliyev said most of the human trafficking crimes in Azerbaijan were related to the sexual exploitation. Labor violation facts have not been identified in Azerbaijan, said the official.
