Wind-power-park to be laid out in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has started to lay out wind-power-park. The Shurabad project, implemented by local Caspian Technology Company, designed to construct wind power stations with the capacity 48 MVt near the Baku-Guba automobile highway.

Technical Director of the Company, Nazir Ramazanov says that, 16 power stations with 3 MVt for each, produced by Vestas Company will be constructed in Surabad Area, 55 km of Baku-Guba Road. The works on these have already been started.

Energy production will be started in the second quarter of 2011 and 201 mln kVt/hour energy will be produced per year. This means 57 mln cb gases will be saved. The company will sell this energy to Bakuelektrikshebeke OJSC. According to contract, signed between Azerelektrishebeke and Caspian Technology each 1 kVt/hour will be sold from 4.5 kopecks.

Second Power Park with the total capacity of 100 MVt is planned to be constructed near the same area. Note that, Caspian Technology has implemented its first pilot project in Yeni Yashma Settlement. The energy, produced here, is sold to Bakuelektrikshebeke OJSC.
