Bill on cemeteries may be adopted in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan needs to adopt a bill on cemeteries, Azerbaijani Parliamentary Culture Committee Deputy Chairman Rafael Huseynov said. Huseynov has proposed the adoption of the law "On memorials, sacred places and burial sites".

"Sometimes during conducting the necessary construction works around the non-groomed and uncontrolled cemeteries, we are faced with people's discontent," he said.

"The grave is sacred as long as it is visited by people. If such a law is adopted, then it will be possible to rely on it during the demolition unvisited graves," Huseynov said.

According to him, enough material on foreign countries' experiences was collected, which will be used in the preparation of this bill.
