
Two helicopters and crew members of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Emergency Situations, who assisted Israel in putting out the forest fires returned home on December 9.
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the firefighting forces were welcomed by high-ranking officials of the Ministry and Israeli ambassador to the country Michael Lavon-Lotem.
On December 7, Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met firefighting forces from 17 countries and presented them with certificates.
The Commander of the Israeli Air Force also presented special certificates to the Azerbaijani crew. Michael Lavon-Lotem thanked the forces and said Azerbaijan response was fast to send the firefighting team.
