Azerbaijani Shabran region's village renamed

At the Parliamentary Regional Issues Committee's meeting it was recommended to consider a bill on renaming the Tazakend village to Devechi.

"Devechi is the name of the historical place of Azerbaijan, and this toponym must be preserved on one of the territories," the committee chairman Arif Rahimzade said at the meeting.

At the parliamentary meeting, held on April 2, it was decided to rename the Devechi region to Shabran.

Then, the Parliamentary Regional Issues Committee's meeting in connection with the application of the law "On Education" also discussed a bill on making amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Azerbaijani Republic.
