Young men's nighttime ride in Mercedes ends up with tragedy in Baku

Young people who chose to ride in a rented BMW last evening got into a terrible accident in Baku last night. The car with seven young men on board lost control and fell from the 10-meter height to the tunnel.

The tragedy occurred at night time in a newly built tunnel at the intersection of Azadlig Avenue and Zia Bunyadov Street in Narimanov District. BMW turned over and fell into a tunnel.. As a result, five people got injured.

"Ministry of Emergency situations officers arrived at the scene along with police officers. All five young men were taken to the Central Clinical Hospital ¹ 1, of whom four were seriously injured. Age of injured range from 15 to 18 years. They are in a critical condition," Narimanov Police investigator said.

According to witnesses, the accident occured when the driver tried to bypass the open hatch on the road, and lost control of the car. An investigation on the case is underway.
