Railway blast in Dagestan does not impact schedule of Azerbaijani trains

A railway blast took place in Gizlar region of Dagestan, Russia at 03.36 Saturday just after Astrakhan-Makhachkala train passed there.

Railway security forces and police identified a group of gunmen near the site and opened fire. One security officer was wounded, the gunmen managed to escape.

The explosion covered a three-meter part of railway temporarily stopping train movement, including Moscow-Makhachkala and Baku-Tumen trains. Azerbaijan Railway spokesman Nadir Azmammadov said the train arrived in Baku in time and the incident didn’t change Azerbaijan’s train schedules.
