Road bridge collapses in Azerbaijan's Zardab region

A road bridge over the Ashagi Shirvan collector collapsed in Zardab region of Azerbaijan. The accident took place at about 8.30 p.m. on Friday. The bridge’s sidewalk collapsed at the 30 square meters mark.

First deputy head of the Zarda executive power, chairman of the regional emergency commission Allahverdi Safarov told APA that head of the regional executive power Lutvali Babayev held an emergency meeting as soon as they received information about the bridge collapse and discussed measures for restoration of the bridge.

He said the bridge was constructed in 1970s. Now police is controlling the automobile and pedestrian traffic in the area. No casualties were reported during the accident.
