63, 736 sq m area cleared from unexploded ordinances in Baku

63, 736 square meters of territory near the TV tower in Baku was cleared from the unexploded ammunitions, ANAMA (Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions) senior expert Adil Aslanov said.

Aslanov said the experts finalized the mine-clearance and quality-inspection operations in the territory. They will submit the act about the operation to the Sabayil district police office on Wednesday.

“The operation was conducted according to the national mine security standards. ANAMA experts cleared the territory and at the same time inspected the nearby houses and yards and educated the people about the unexploded ordnance threat.

2310 armor-piercing shells of 125-mm caliber and other ammunitions were found during the operations conducted on November 10-19 at the request of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The ammunitions were taken to the ANAMA’s range in Guzdek.
