The Azerbaijani Shamakhi region's akhund died in a traffic accident today after returning from the Hajj.

A member of the Caucasus Muslim Organization's (CMO) Gazi Council, Mustafa Mamishov died in a traffic accident on his way to Shamakhi, CMO spokesman Rahima Dadashova said.
About 2,000 pilgrims from Azerbaijan committed the Hajj this year. About 1,200 went by bus and 800 by plane. Three Azerbaijani pilgrims died during the Hajj this year.
75yr old resident of the Jalilabad region Duha Mammadova's health status deteriorated at the end of a Hajj ritual. She was taken to the hospital, but it was impossible to save her life.
Earlier another Azerbaijani pilgrim Khanbala Atakishiyev died in the Syrian city of Sham. His body was brought to Baku on Nov. 8, upon his family's request. 68yr old Mafi Nazarov also died in Syria returning after a pilgrimage to Mecca.
