Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration to attend IMO meeting

The Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration will take part in the Eighty-Eighth Session of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee on Nov. 24.

A delegation led by administration head Gudrat Gurbanov will represent Azerbaijan at the event.

The session will discuss amendments to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, measures to enhance maritime safety and standards of new vessel construction, as well as the improvement of rescue and surf missions at sea.

The session will also elect a new committee chairman. The event will close on Dec. 4.
