Mobile internet users in Azerbaijan outnumber broadband internet users by 5%

The users of mobile internet outnumber those of ADSL broadband internet by 5 percent in Azerbaijan.
According to a survey conducted by Azerbaijan Marketing Society (AMS), 12 out of every 100 internet users in the country connect to global networks through ADSL technology while 17 out of every 100 connect to internet via mobile phone. Thus, the number of mobile internet users, which is a type of broadband internet, exceeds the number of broadband internet via ADSL technology by 5%.

The survey showed that at least one person in 38% of households has an internet access (at work, internet café or via mobile phone). This indicator is 51% in urban areas while the number of home internet users in the city is 29%.

In general, 45% of respondents are internet users and this figure is twice as much as the official figure for the country.
